As a freelance writer for Seattle magazine, the feature assignments I've handled have included following a local high school marching band through a season of festival competition in Washington and Oregon; trailing a bike messenger through the busy streets of downtown Seattle; traveling to Yakima to report on the University of Washington's Innocence Project as it worked to exonerate a man who was wrongly incarcerated for 10 years; following up on the one-year anniversity of the 2006 Capitol Hill murders; violence in Seattle night clubs; and reporting on wildlife encounters in urban Western Washington.

I have received two awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for my work at the magazine.
