ARTICLES
For more than a decade, Todd Matthews has worked as a journalist for a variety of newspapers and magazines in the Pacific Northwest. He is presently the editor of the Tacoma Daily Index, a small newspaper first published in 1890. His articles have also appeared in All About Jazz, Asian Focus, City Arts Tacoma, Earshot Jazz, Homeland Security Today, Jazz Steps, Journal of the San Juans, Lynnwood-Mountlake Terrace Enterprise, Prison Legal News, Rain Taxi, Real Change, Seattle magazine, Seattle Business Monthly, Tablet, Washington CEO, and Washington Free Press.
Matthews' work has covered a range of subjects. In 1996, he spent three months working as a commercial fisherman in the Aleutian Islands and wrote a feature article about the experience. In 1998, he wrote an in-depth feature about the King County Medical Examiner's Office and its work investigating a mysterious death. Finally, between 2006 and 2008 he wrote nearly a dozen feature articles for Seattle magazine covering everything from high school marching bands to nightclub violence to wildlife encounters in urban areas to the Capitol Hill massacre.
